Good on stage 26 Jan 2002
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
My school put this on as a play - it seemed to go down well. It misses out a few non-essential bits from the original novel, but otherwise it's faithful. The play takes about 3 hours to perform, and it's a lot of fun to perform! It does however, require a lot of technical expertise to put on.

Cold Comfort Farm 27 July 2010
By Fiona
Format:Paperback
Very funny play about Flora Poste who goes to live with her relatives in the country and tries to 'tidy' things up and sort them out - and she succeeds with many comic situations en route.

I bought this because I was in the play.

Too self-conscious 4 Jun 2008
Format:Paperback
This is a slightly odd adaptation: not a 'straight' one that takes the story seriously on its own terms, but one that constantly - and eventually irritatingly - refers to its own stageyness. It works best when sticking to the original source material, to which it's largely faithful (except for removing Mr Mybug and Mrs Beetle) and worst when it occasionally veers off from comedy into strange symbolic scenes with the entwined Starkadders chanting in unison. As a previous reviewer said, the staging is technically quite difficult.
