Review

Praise for Alex Shaw 'He won't be stopped now. The book will become popular among Kyiv's expats, some of them will even recognize themselves.' Kyiv Post 'A strong aspect of HETMAN is Shaw's knowledge of Ukraine & Special Forces operations. The character of Bull felt real on the page, you don't get better than that.' 2010 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award

5.0 out of 5 stars The best SAS book this year 23 Aug 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
I am a fan of the whole SAS book genre and read Alex Shaw's first novel `Hetman'. For an unknown writer I was impressed. If Hetman was good then Cold Black is great. Cold Black is the second Aidan Snow thriller and is even better than the first.

The action, as readers of `Hetman' will expect, starts from page one. The characters are weighty, gritty and above all chillingly real. I highly recommend this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 4 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Much preferred this follow up book to the original. Pace was good and held your interest.
I think this is just me as I have always struggled with Russian Characters, they just merge into one for me and I find myself forgetting who is who, are they from Belarus or Russia or the Ukraine? I ended up speed reading through the USSR modern history lesson as I had my fill from Hetman.

That said, still well worth reading.
