Product Description

Product Description

Three leading figures in the field of cognitive neuroscience provide an engaging, narrative-driven overview of this path-breaking field. Taking a highly interdisciplinary approach, the authors balance cognitive theory, with neuroscientific and neuropsychological evidence to reveal what we currently know about how the human mind works and to encourage students to think like cognitive neuroscientists. The text has been reorganised to move more seamlessly from micro to macro level topics, and its underlying pedagogy strengthened in order to make it an even more effective teaching tool. Maintaining its commitment to highlight the most cutting-edge trends in the field, the third edition includes the first ever stand-alone chapter of its kind on social neuroscience.

Great all round book 17 July 2006
Format:Hardcover
I have used this book during my psychology degree and have found it a great book to read. It explains complicated biological ideas in a coherent and easy to read manner. I would definately recommend this book to anyone interested in neuroscience at any level. All encompassed in a well presented and well thought through account of cognitive neuroscience with the added bonus of interviews with other prestigious researchers in the area.

this book is perfect to anyone who studies cognitive neuroscience in advanced level. There is a lot of references regarding very recent research as well as some of the classic studies that. The book is written in very easy to understand language and fantastically explains even very difficult concepts.

By C. X. Linton-Willoughby TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
The outside back cover of the book and also page xviii both advertise: "Instructor's neuroscience media DVD two-disc set."

The publisher has stated that "The references merely state that there is an Instructor's DVD set available. It does not say the DVDs come with the book! Most of our textbooks have references similar to this. The references cannot be removed as Instructor's looking to adopt it would need to see what resources are available."
