I don't usually do reviews like this but I loved this book so here goes. The story is told by the main character whose believable charm combined with his straightforward approach had me hooked from the start. It develops quickly, it never flags, and it always kept me hurrying to turn the next page. But the thing that I really liked about this book was the way it left me with an unanswered question. I love it when a book does that. You never know for sure whether an important part of the story is true or not, and I'm a sucker for the uncertain.

This is a great spy tale based around a likeable central character and his unlikely sidekick who he is trying to keep alive. The duo are pursued across Tenerife resulting in an exciting series of action set pieces with a varied selection of villains, one of which the lead character builds an intriguing relationship. The story keeps you guessing until the end and is loaded full of twists and turns. A highly recommended read.

The spy genre is one I rarely delve into. However following a recommendation I pursued Codename Moneyman and I'm glad I did! The initial commensurate pace soon gained momentum until reaching a swift urgency that had me hooked. More twists and turns than the Monaco Grand Prix! The characters developed with realism and the locations were clearly well researched. All in all a very entertaining read and one I would recommend to others.
