Reality or fantasy?

Code 33 is an unusual document that has surfaced after years hidden away.

Its author purports to be a retired senior CIA official who, after thirty-three years handling secrets, wishes to come clean, with himself, and with the tax-paying public.

The author's revelations are truly amazing, and they cover a wide spectrum of topics, from the assassination of President John F. Kennedy to the Bermuda Triangle, from "The Sixth Man" in Philby's Cambridge Spy Ring to UFOs, from the power elite to the death of Princess Diana.

The author breathtakingly solves many modern mysteries in a whimsical, witty style that keeps the reader hungrily flipping pages.

Well Worth the Read. 22 Jan 2012

Most unusual book, and I sure would like to know who wrote it. Author is very protective of "the Company," although he states that "they" would come after him in a heartbeat if they knew who he was. I would like to believe all of it, but there is no question that the author covers up drug dealing by the CIA in the Iran Contra affair and Vietnam. It has been clearly established that the CIA was at least complicit in the massive amounts of heroin and cocaine that came into this country during these periods. This has been verified by so many sources that it cannot be denied. The author HAS to know this. Further, CIA involvement in the Kennedy assassination is another no-brainer that the author cannot deny. No way that organized crime got the motorcade route changed to go through Dealey Plaza two days before the assassination, got Oswald the job in the Dallas book depository, sent Oswald to the Soviet Union to "sheep dip" him as a communist, and so on and so forth.... If organized crime did it all why didn't Allen Dulles and John McCloy, both CIA and on the Warren Commission, see that justice was done? The author also braggs about overthrowing and assassinating elected heads of state, such as Salvador Allende of Chile, as an act that saved lives when the exact opposite is true. Add to this the fact that actions such as these have caused irreparable harm to US security. It is a sad day when a senior CIA official "bares his soul" but cannot even understand how badly he has screwed up and does not even realize what he should feel guilty about. He actually said that it is in the best interest of the country that they, the CIA, answer to no one, not the president, not congress, and not even the American people in any manner. This is exactly what is wrong with the CIA and the author should know that. The author actually implied that the CIA had the right to murder a president whom they believed was causing grievous harm to national security. I did not read that in the National Security Act of 1947, nor in their charter. One would think that impeachment by Congress would be a better way to handle the situation. That the author thinks this way adds credibility that this did come from the CIA. I am just not certain whether or not it is CIA disinformation, or the author actually believes what he is saying.

I would like to believe much of what the author put forth here, but he certainly has been disingenuous in several areas so it is hard to believe everything that he has written. The UFO story certainly makes sense and it could very well be true, but who knows for sure? I wish he would have been more straight forward in the areas I know something about so that I could absolutely believe him in the other areas also.

Another area of concern is comments about Mae Brussell. The author says that she was co-opted by the CIA and actually turned over "mail order lists" to the CIA who in turn sent them to the FBI, Secret Service, and IRS. Was this said to intimidate people from seeking information or did this actually happen? Who knows?

Having the above reservations, I still believe that this is valuable info and well worth the read. I would like to see comments from other readers, especially people with experience in intellegence, government, political research, and so forth. Perhaps we can bring this book more into focus. Anyone know the background of this book?

I esecially like the chapters on M. Monroe,JFK,RFK and the Roswell incident. The chapters on spying were a little long winded though.

Call me a believer 8 Jan 2012

I was wary of this book in the beginning. I am actually still reading it, I most likely will finish reading it straight through without a break. When the author described the murder of Marilyn Monroe, I became a believer and I can't wait to finish the rest of it.
