So, I wanted to get rid of some of my CD's and put them in the attic. Saw the advert for the Brennan JB7 and promptly ordered the 160 GB model. This was delivered in a matter of days and I started to rip some of my CD's onto the machine. I had been using the machine for a few hours when it suddenly started to reset itself in the middle of ripping a CD. I contacted the helpline and they suggested a few potential solutions, none of them worked. I returned the machine and was sent another machine within a couple of days. When the second machine arrived, I had the same issue so asked for a refund. When I asked what was going on, I did get the answer that they had picked up a few issues with some of their machines.....which calls into question what their quality assurance program is all about.
So, I bought this Cocktail Audio 500GB machine and it works perfectly. It has a few more functionalities than the Brennan and a bit cheaper to. Having the internet connection updates the database as well, unlike the Brennan where you have to buy an updated disc and load this onto the machine
I would have give the Cocktail Audio 5 stars, but the website is appalling and the spelling unacceptable. Similarly the English in the manual is also unacceptable. It looks at though the manual was written in Korean and then translated into English using Google translate. It seems the company is unwilling to update the website to a more professional standard, but nevertheless I would recommend this product!!!
