5.0 out of 5 stars The best book on this topic in English, 7 Feb 2004
This review is from: Cockpit: An Illustrated History of World War II Aircraft Interiors (Hardcover)
Developed before supersonic designs, the cockpits in this book depict the last generation of aircraft in which pilot could feel totally in control.Cockpit is the first book to take us inside so many of the most famous Allied and Axis fighters and bombers including rare shots of Japanese (Ki-46 Dinah,Kawasaki Ki-100,Kawanishi Shiden-Kai) and German (ME-163 and ME-262) aircraft interiors. An insightful and candid pilot's perspective accompanies the story of each plane."This is your chance to sit in the cockpit.Enjoy".

4.0 out of 5 stars See with your eyes what they saw, 8 Jan 2004
This review is from: Cockpit: An Illustrated History of World War II Aircraft Interiors (Hardcover)
That is very beautyfull and powerfull collection of large color photo...
..showing,
to the reader,
everything about the inside and the outside of warbird's WWII cockpit.
Also that ,for each airplane,
there is a detailed interwieuv
with a veteran pilot.
During this interwieuv he tells to the reader about the feeling and the sensation that he had when he got in the hands the plane.
p-47; p-38 and me-109; fw-190; spitfire and so long....very amazing!!!
