I understand that this movie drew terrible criticism, back in the 80's when it was released and nowadays on the web. Sure, out of its 85 minutes, at least 75 are the epitome of boredom. Highly predictable action stuff of B-movie quality at best.

So why did I just order the DVD? Why would I still give it 4 stars?

I think this is one of the weaker movies out there but with some of the strongest scenes. It's like you eat a cake and the dough itself isn't tasty, it's about a few cherries that you can pick:

- The first scene at the supermarket. Incredible humor.
- His reply to the reporter (still that scene)..
- Sly's 'dialog' after he gets home and parks his car.
- The final showdown at the factory.

So in my view, pretty much all of the value is in the beginning and the end. That's what DVD scene selection is for. And to me, that's well worth a few bucks.

Cobra although it has had its critics, in my books is a very entertaining film. Fantastic to watch with some mates, and a six pack. Full of corny stallone kick ass action, which in itself is worth watching the film for. Great movie, amongst some of Stallones best work, behind Rocky and Rambo, possible is the 3rd best movie he has made.

with dialogue like that to start the film it goes into gti mode. sly is very cool in this film and with dvd it makes this film last forever i enjoyed it from start to finish
