Hard to put together 15 Mar 2013

We love the bomber and once put together, it looks good. The down side, it takes 2 people to put together because it comes apart really easy. Even completed, we still had areas of the bomber that wasn't completely attached. My son had stopped and started this at least 4 times in about 10 months. He was frustrated that it would come apart. Even when I was helping him, it was difficult to keep the bomber together while adding new pieces. He also has a cobi jeep and landing craft and that wasn't quite as hard for him to put together. I have the bomber setting on a high shelf so no one takes apart. It's one that once completed, you don't want to put it together again, it was that frustrating.
Fiddly Brick Model Worth Effort 2 April 2014
By David P. Whelan - Published on
Cobi makes excellent brick models and we've now made 4 or 5. I completely agree with other reviews that say this is a very fiddly model to build and then play with. It's one of their biggest kits and has lots of steps. Our 8 and 12 year old worked on it together and were able to successfully complete it. However, the fuselage is weak just in front of the wings and the blocks to which the rear wheels are attached are prone to falling off. There are also two irritating little pieces inside the bomb bay doors.

It can be played with - and kept whole - by holding it from behind the wings when its airborne. When it's on the wheels, it is fine. I'd definitely recommend this kit with the caveat that it can be fiddly - but I wouldn't say complicated - as you're putting the final parts together and using it. But I'd highly recommend any of the Cobi Small Army kits if you want to try something smaller and more straightforward.
