With this stunning selection of photographs, who needs a house by the sea? It's mouthwatering. So much so that you can practically smell the seawood and taste the salt in the air. The interiors are captured beautifully and are truly inspiring. Highly recommended for the photography alone.

Someone bought me this book as a gift and I'm really glad they did as it ended up being far more useful than I had first thought it would be. The illustrations were beautifully layed out and full of the sort of small details that make a difference to a room. The advice offered was practical but stylish, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Recommended

This book looked so beautiful I started having images of it on my coffee table.... hence the purchase. And the pictures are gorgeous. I love this style and I find it really inspiring. But the text is so dreary that I couldn't even be bothered to read more than 10 pages. It needs serious work! Someone forgot to edit? It's a shame because with a more inspiring text this could be a real treasure.
The book has moved to the shelf from the coffee table now....

Yup, sorry folks, this book is a wasted opportunity - and a waste of money. The words are ok if you overlook factual inaccuracy and bad spelling, but the photos are mostly dark, lacklustre and uninspiring - the pictures on back and front covers bear little relation to what's inside. Didn't the sun ever shine when the photos were being taken? The few interesting pictures are very small, and not commented on at all! The book gives the impression of being a good idea that got lost along the way, ending in something carelessly put together. Dull, dull, dull. You'd get more inspiration looking inside upmarket Cornish holiday cottages on the internet. A very disappointing book.

I found this book immensely useful as it highlights colours, textures, that one should use to acheive the coastal style. I use this book frequently (as I constantly always seem to be decorating new spaces!) to cement themes. The pictures are also useful.
