For me this is one of the best series that the BBC have made and although I have seen most of the episodes when they were broadcast live the programmes are such that one can see them over and over again. Although I am 67 I did not realise until I saw these programmes how little I knew about the British Isles. These programmes have enabled me to see places that I have visited in a new light. A really remarkable series that are well worth watching.

Format:DVD
From stories of Hitler's Europe to really stunning killer underwater photography, this set of videos will delight a 12 year old or a 80 year old. It is unfortunate that these disks are not available in US format for people in Grand Forks, North Dakota to enjoy! The pace is excellent and stories move along nicely -- occasionally you wish they went further into each vignette. The presenters are reluctantly fearless and often clearly scared with some of their adventures exploring the coast; so far no apparent serious injuries. It's part travelogue, part geology, part fisheries, part history -- a sweet mixture. It is awesome stuff**Knowledge present is this manner is awesome -- you learn stuff such as Canola was formerly known as rape (the cereal not serial). Check out their 6th series -- it continues

I loved this boxset because it is a great photographic documentary of the lovely Great Britain Island.
We loved viewing it on TV here in Australia when we could. Love the accents too. Good way of familiarising oneself with one's place of birth!! Very hard to purchase here!!
