Recommended. A very readable history of the WWII convoys to and from London along the east and south east coast of England. Early in the war these convoy routes were some of the hardest fought in the conflict. Unlike the Atlantic the main threat to the convoys was not German U-Boats but aircraft, mines and E-Boats. Most of the ships were humble colliers. Includes the special units who manned the AA guns on the merchant ships. A fascinating book which could have been longer to do justice to this campaign. Unfortunately there is no index or bibliography.
