7 of 7 people found the following review helpful By Mr. Andrew E. North on 29 Nov. 2007
Format: Hardcover
The practical mentoring course run by Julia and her team has been one of the most life-changing courses that I have attended. The book covers the difficult and oft ill described field of coaching and mentoring in a way that makes sense to the busy NHS professional. A main focus is the Egan model of mentoring which gives structure to the process. This has helped many colleagues with messy issues. Apart from the benefits obvious from the title, skills learnt help with everyday relationship and communication problems.

I find this book invaluable in reminding myself and refeshing my understanding of mentoring, an area in which I've worked for several years. Clear and very practical. Excellent.
