Format:Audio CD
This audio CD covers all of the topics in depth and for an absolute beginner it could provide some useful discussion/ reflection points. It is well structured and each 'chapter' is balanced and easy to listen to.
The biggest down side: the definitions used for coaching and mentoring are not clear - they are not in line with the definitions used by the CIPD and other professional bodies and are inconsistent making it then tricky to apply the skills.
The other issue is that it seems to have been written by people heavily involved in NVQs - some of the areas therefore are focused on this and not on more general workplace coaching and mentoring. The synopsis for this item does not make this clear.

Format:Audio CD
The CD has provided me with clear straight forward guidance on how to coach and mentor my staff in the workplace. The CD is easy to listen to and also provides additional downloadable resources. The guidance on the legal considerations I need to take into account have been a particularly useful reminder.
This was an excellent learning method for me as I need to coach and develop my staff but haven't the time to attend a traditional course.

trade. I was able to absorb the information by simply listening. It takes
away the chore of attending courses or ploughing through books. It was a
really enjoyable way of developing my skills. Members of my team borrowed it
and loved it too!
