4.0 out of 5 stars Better than #6... 28 Jun 2005
By Alan
Format:Audio CD
Clubland 7, like all of the other 'Clubland' albums over the past few years, contain several modern dance songs of the 21st Century. As a dance lover of the mid-90s, some of the dance created today I don't believe is as good, but Clubland 7 at least offers a modern variety of feel-good thumping tunes for serious clubbers everywhere.
Clubland 5 and 6 contained some rap/urban songs that were remixed and slapped on to the album, which really damaged the genre of 'dance' and didn't make the album any better at all. Clubland 7 has changed this, and I don't think this time there are any remixes of urban songs... THANK GOODNESS!
There are several songs that contain the 2005 style of dance, repeating the same line loads of times (like Eric Prydz's Call On Me), which is quite a unique style of dance music... and one that certainly fits in with the clubs.
Maybe if you are a person who likes artists like Paul Van Dyk, BT and Sash! may not appreciate this album as much as people who like modern dance, but this said, it is a must for clubbers who I can guarantee will love it.
My fave tracks are:
Darren Styles - Getting Better
Pascal vs Bryan Adams - Run To You
Sunset Strippers - Falling Stars
Dancing DJ's - Fading Like A Flower
Clubbers everywhere enjoy!

It took me 2 listenings of this album to like it, and I can now say its suprisingly good. However, Clubland is becoming very commercial and house obesesed. Unfortunatley, since the quite beginings of clubland 1 when it was almost all trance, they have learnt that they can try and make more money out of younger listeners through commercial house music - which is normally horrible to listen to! However, I've got to admit theres a good selection here. Cd 1 is probably the best, but both are a bit similar. Suprised the included body rockers on cd2 - not clublands style. Overall, its not a bad album, but the clubland from years gone by are by far the best. Check out clubland 3 or 5 for the best summer tunes, or Clubland 4 for the night.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Clubland CD yet! 27 Jun 2005
Format:Audio CD
WOW! The Clubland series have always been really good, but you normally find (like with all compilations) that there are several duff tracks - this compilation, however, is just jammed with superb tunes.

Both CDs are mixed to create the perfect soundtrack for Summer 2005, with new tracks and some amazing cover versions of classic songs - check out the Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive' sampling 'Back From Outer Space' by Mirabeau and hear Bananarama's 'Really Saying Something' like never before, and even the DiVinyls 'I Touch Myself' gets a cover version!

It would be impossible to select a favourite track from this collection, they are all so fabulous, but maybe Eyeopener's 'Sexy Eyes' purely cos it made me laugh out loud ha ha!

Being a massive fan of Europop this CD hits ALL the right spots - thoroughly recommended!
