Having initially nerded out over the discovery that a double tracing wheel exists and how much time it would save me, I was extremely excited to receive mine a few weeks ago. It's such a simple but time-saving idea, and makes so much sense that I don't know why they are not stocked in every haberdashery there is. The wheels can be removed and replaced into slots between 0.5cm and 3cm so it covers a lot of bases, and it's comfortable and easy to use. Admittedly, some of my friends were not nearly as excited about my discovery as I was, but when I told the rest of my costume design class, they had the same reaction, and I imagine anyone who designs, drafts or sews will share in it also. I would have preferred sharper points on the wheels as you do have to apply quite a bit of pressure if you're tracing onto white drafting paper, but I imagine it would be much more suitable when using dressmaking tracing paper.

This is great for transferring carbon tracing of pattern markings on to fabric, as you can trace cutting line and seam stitching line at the same time (on the reverse of the fabric - for obvious reasons). The wheels are round pointed so that it will not dig into the fabric and possibly snag it. There are other tracing wheels on the market that have sharp points. These are only suitable for tracing on to tissue or other pattern pieces and can sometimes appear faint. This Clover wheel leaves distinct marks because of the rounded points which makes it easy to see where to cut and to sew. You can move the wheels at a quarter of an inch intervals up to 1 and a half inches(3 cm) to accommodate different seam widths. The tool is slightly angled for for ease and comfort and it seems robust. I am pleased to have bought it.

It is great to be able to run along one line and create two line markings. And it can mark multiple widths making this tool very useful for multiple applications, from marking seam allowances to creating cord or elastic placement. It feels nice and sturdy in the hand too. Another great product from Clover.

Use it for marking seams on copies of patterns - can now have different seams widths than the pattern specifies. Very useful

A clever solution to an old sewing problem. Clover (like Prym) is a name I trust, and once again my trust has been well placed.
