Book Description

12 April 2012 Cloud Appreciation Society
Clouds in the shape of dolphins, elephants, UFOs, even Alfred Hitchcock and Andy Murray... they're all here in this beautiful and hilarious collection of clouds photographed around the world by members of The Cloud Appreciation Society, selected and wittily captioned by Gavin Pretor-Pinney, winner of the Royal Society Winton Science Writing Prize.

Author of the bestselling The Cloudspotter's Guide, A Pig With Six Legs and The Cloud Collector's Handbook, and creator of The Cloud Appreciation Society, Gavin's mission is to fight blue-sky thinking and encourage us to love and understand clouds. His new book is divided by themes such as 'Celestial Celebrities' and 'Airborne Animals', and includes an informative section on what clouds are and how they are formed. The perfect gift book for anyone willing to look skywards and discover the beauty and fascination of clouds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cloudspotters Delight! 6 April 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
As with the first book this second Clouds That Look Like Things is a great book not only to look at but also full of useful info for the growing number of cloudspotters out there. Giant fish,Homer Simpson,Dragons and Toppless sunbathers are all in here as well as my own addition!! As with all of Gavin's books there's a great deal of humour involved while also being very informative on the subject too.
Not intersested in clouds?I'm sure this will make you look at them in a very different light now and you'll find youself looking for the next topless sunbather in the sky :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Something that had always interested me
As soon as I read the title I was hooked. I had always been interested in the ephemeral way clouds can look like all sorts of other things such as mountains, seas, UFOs etc.

A mixed bag of photos here. Some you can see the shape straight away, some you can't work out! Bought for a friend so hope she sees them better than me.
