We bought this for my son my only complaint being we waited till he was 8 weeks old!!
We use the whale noise setting at night, and he falls asleep within minutes.. and if he stirs during the night, either from bad dreams or external noise, we simply put it back on and he falls straight asleep again. It seems particularly good for us as we live in a small flat, so the noise of us moving around and our TV often disturbed him, but sleep sheeps seems to cancel these sounds out!
During the day I use a different sound so as to help differentiate between night and day.
The small sound unit is very easily removable, so when we stay away from home, I simply take the sound unit with me.

I bought this for my daughter when she was two days old, as I couldn't get her to settle in her moses basket by herself. The sheep toy is very sweet, but I didn't actually put this in her basket - she likes looking at it, but it's a bit too big for the basket. It attaches quite securely to the bars of her cot using velcro strips.
The unit inside with the sounds was great at settling her and is small enough to use in the moses basket. Once she got used to it, we used it for daytime naps and I even put it in her pushchair when we first went out in it.
I tend to use a white noise cd more now to settle her at night, but this is still a really useful item, especially when she wakes at night and we want a timer for the sounds, rather than putting a cd on. (She still sleeps in our bedroom.) Once she moves to her cot, I will put the little unit back inside the sheep.

I was really looking forward to this sleep sheep after so many of my friends (most from USA) recommended this to me. I hoped it would help our then 4 month old daughter settle herself to sleep. When it arrived I was made up by how soft it was and how very cute! I let my daughter play with it for a while before inserting the musical box. The sounds itself are ok. I was looking forward the most to the heartbeat. Obviously I dont know what my heartbeat sounds like from my womb, but I am quite sure it doesnt just beat once every couple of seconds. Anyway, the sleep sheep did not do its job very well! My daughter did not settle at all when it was on and we found she fell asleep muc better with no probs at all! Just her dummy and cuddle-blanket in a dark room. That being said, I am not dissapointed with the purchase as I am sure if I were to use with our next baby from day 1, it will work much better. But untill then, our daughter uses it as a toy without the music box inserted.

Absolute godsend!
