This is great if you just want to access files from an attached hard drive from anywhere you have an internet connection or store your holiday photos and videos for local wireless streaming. There is also a free iPhone app to access your files with your iPhone. We use it to store Holiday Videos and Photos transferred from our iPhones to an attached hard drive on the Pogoplug Pro. Although it has built in wireless streaming for the PS3 or XBOX 360 we found the streaming a little slow on the photos and video stuttering on both. We streamed the photos and video to Apple TV via the Pogoplug iPhone app through a wireless router and it worked perfectly. Although it comes with the option to compress the video for streaming we didn't use this on these tests.
You have to buy an external hard drive to use this, it has 3 USB 2 ports at the back and one at the front, it supports these Drive Formats: NTFS, FAT32, HFS+, EXT2, EXT3
It also works with these operating systems: Microsoft® Windows XP/Vista/7, Apple® Mac OS® X 10.5 or above, Linux

Overall it is very easy to set up and a great piece of kit. Store your files, photos and videos, and it opens up a whole new range of functions for you. Access your files from anywhere you get internet access, including your iPhone, view your photos or stream them wirelessly on a local router. But don't expect it to be anywhere near as fast or responsive as a real server.

OK so you want cloud storage - explanation... You want to back up files or folders to a hard drive offsite. Pogoplug is your answer. You literally get it out the box, plug it into your router, and plug a hard drive into the back (up to three hard drives in the back). Then jump on-line, setup a pogoplug account (ten minute affair) and you are away. You can then back up from your computer at work to a hard drive at home!

You can setup 'active copy' which auto backs up a selected file on a computer anywhere as long as it is connected to the internet, to the hard drive. This little device has loads more features than described on amozon or the pogoplug website. For instance, the app for iphone is great, letting you view files etc, there is a downloadable (from pogoplug account website) interface and loads more.

If you should be regularly backing up a computer and find yourself lugging around a hard drive to do just that, or carry several memory stick at once, dont bother, just buy this. A word of advice though, do the initial backup with hard drive connected to the computer, as transferring large amounts of data (im talking 300MB plus) will take a while, as this is only as fast as your internet connections on host and destination.

Honestly a brilliant little product, i have a 1TB hard drive backing up several computers at once, all over the net automatically.

Really struggled accessing wilst not on my own home network but I suspect this is due to upload speed from my Internet connection and not pogoplug issue
