Format: Audio CD
If you're after a great prog metal album which recalls Images & Words era Dream Theater, with perhaps a greater emphasis on melody than technical wizardry, then you'll find much to enjoy here. An excellent vocal performance by Fabio Manda (with added material by Subsignal's Arno Menses), leads the charge on an array of excellent group talent.

The eight tracks offer a tour de force of hooking melodies, epic instrumentals and thoughtful compositions. The album is one big highlight, but the final three tracks - culminating in the 16 minute Aftermath - are breath taking, evoking great beauty and power in equal measure.

Also of note is the quality of production. Instruments come across crisply, with every note being heard, whilst vocals are kept front and center of the mix.

Soul Secret are a band which no prog metal band should go without listening to.
