Close-up On Death 2 May 2012
By Rich
Format:Paperback
An up and coming T.V. actress discovers her best friend's body in an empty house. Finding herself one of the main suspects, she finds herself at the mercy of DI John Bright, forcing her to re-examine her life.

Intriguing murder mystery narrated from the point of view of the actress. O'Brien has a compelling narrative voice, though at times this reads a little too much like a monologue. However, the relationship which develops between the narrator and John Bright is a highlight of the book.

Excellent start to this series, John Bright is a complex character who warrants further investigation.
