Beverley Craven's eagerly awaited fourth album does not disappoint. The ten tracks highlight Beverley's versatile talent for songwriting and can thrill you one moment and move you the next.
The first track, 'Rainbows' is a superb, uplifting track announcing Beverley's return with a resounding cheer. Track two, 'All Yours' would not be out of place on her third album, 'Mixed Emotions' and has a beautiful rhythmic beat.
'Without Me', track three, is a heartbreaking number layered with hope. Beverley is one of the few writers who can reach this level of emotion without reducing it to schmaltz.
The rest of the album continues to tell stories of sadness and joy. The absolute highlight is the penultimate number, 'Fun, Fun, Fun' which proves Ms Craven has a superbly wry sense of humour as the irony hits the ivories.
Although it has been a long wait, this album is one which remains in heavy rotation and I certainly hope there is a lot more to come.
