Heard this fella on the OGWT "back in the day" as they say. Bought myself the album and loved it, though as always some tracks ear-worm more than others.
Some of the vocals seem a tad flat in places on my first listening tonight, but I didn't press "basket" for the vocals. It's the guitar playing that I wanted to revisit, and it is brilliant in places, alas, there are several "autograph" passages that repeat over the 2 albums, yes, on the CD you get a bonus album... Woooooo!
"Wreck my mind" has to be my best track. It's a fabulous frantic evocative driving concept for a song and on this track the bass player gets a real look-in.
"Tell me about it Slim", runner up, though excellent in it's own way. I play guitar and still haven't reached that level of fluidity and speed.Oh well, practise, practise...
Overall, this album was an interesting and at odds issue at the time of it's release. Punk had got into gear in the UK, The (puke) new romantics were cavorting with synths et al.
If you enjoy guitar based pop music you won't be dissapointed!
