Book Description

13 Mar 2008 Jay Jessop Racing Thriller
Two casino owners from Las Vegas plot to acquire a group of British racecourses for their Supercasino scam – and nothing is going to get in their way, certainly not someone like racehorse owner Jay Jessop. Meanwhile, Jay’s world is beset with problems, ranging from the purely domestic – his wife’s attitude to his new, young and sexy assistant trainer – to more pressing ones, such as the unwelcome advances of an international porn star, the erratic and increasingly aggressive behaviour of one of his investors, and the fact that there might be a rival’s mole in his stables. And then a host of unsavoury heavies descend intrude on his life, forcing him to make contact with his Eastend minder Benny and his gang to help Jay sort things out…

Review

"* 'Praise for Graeme Roe's Previous Novels Roe succeeds in weaving a tale that keeps you galloping through the pages to find out what happens next.' - Independent on Sunday * 'This is the stuff of classic racing thrillers, with liberal doses of violence and suspense, kidnap and murder. Roe's trump card, though, is the racing.' - Racing Post * 'Pacey and innovative, with good characters.' - Richard Pitman, Sunday Express * 'Another action-packed racing thriller set against a realistic background of what National Hunt racing is really like.' - Richard Dunwoody"

5.0 out of 5 stars Close call is a safe bet 17 Mar 2008
Format:Paperback
Risking your life savings on the turf is usually a risky business. Staking your mortgage on the likely success of the latest addition to the Jay Jessop racing thriller series by Graeme Roe is a much safer bet.

The reader instinctively feels that Graeme Roe knows the racing business inside out, especially the rarified world of the Amateur Jockeys Championship. Plenty of other writers in the genre have at least an equal knowledge of the inside of the sport. What they often lack is Roe's ability to weave his deep understanding of the racing world into the broader canvas of the international underworld.

The pace is as fast as the going on a firm course, with unrelenting suspense.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 23 April 2009
Format:Paperback
I was really surprised on what a good read this book was, although I do wish they would not have so much violence, when one reads a book one hopes to escape into another world and most times you can, I now have all the books this Author and thought the first book was the best, but did enjoy reading this one
