For anyone who is missing their David Gemmell fix. --io9.com

Product Description

This volume contains all three books in the Clockwork Vampire Chronicles: Kell's Legend ~ Soul Stealers ~ Vampire Warlords

The land of Falanor is invaded by an albino army, the Army of Iron. A small group set off to warn the king: Kell, ancient hero; his granddaughter, Nienna and her friend, Katrina; and the ex-Sword Champion of King Leanoric, Saark, disgraced after his affair with the Queen.

Fighting their way south, betrayal follows battle follows deviation, and they are attacked from all quarters by deadly albino soldiers, monstrous harvesters who drain blood from their victims to feed their masters, and the twisted offspring of deviant vachine, the cankers. As Falanor comes under heavy attack and crushing invasion, only then does Nienna learn the truth about grandfather Kell - that he is anything but a noble hero, anything but a Legend.

Reviews:

“For anyone who is missing their David Gemmell fix.”
- io9.com

“I dived straight in, emerging a couple of days later – with a grin on my face… an engaging, fast paced cocktail of violence and intrigue that grabs you right from the outset and doesn’t let go until you run out of pages.”
- My Favourite Books

“Add to the mix a good dollop of battlefield humour, a good handful of Howard’s style backed up with a stark descriptiveness and it’s a tale that gives Remic a firm footing within the genre.”
- Falcata Times

“Soul Stealers is fast, brutal and above all unmissable, there is quite simply nothing out there that can currently compare to Andy Remic’s unrelenting, unforgiving and unflinching style. The new King of Heroic Fantasy has arrived. 5 *****”

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book 13 Nov 2012
By Juju
Format:Paperback
I picked this up from a bookstore, based on the title ;)

You can see the similarities with Druss by David Gemmell. I like the author comments where he states it is a bit of a homage to him.

The book itself is great. The idea surrounding the vampires is extremely awesome imo. There is plenty of action, character building and an excellent plot. The characters are flawed heroes, and you end up really caring and rooting for them.

If you like David Gemmell and Warhammer fantasy, this should be a book you will love.

5.0 out of 5 stars An adult Lord of the Rings 10 July 2013

First time I'd come across anything by Remic, and I must admit it wasn't what I was expecting! Read it on the recommendation of a friend, and glad I did.

The narrative grabs you by the curlies very quickly, revealing a sinister army that threatens all of mankind. Graal offers the reader an easy character to hate, and hate him you will!

Kell, whilst angry, anti-social and violent, is instantly likeable due to his interaction with his granddaughter, Nienna. You instinctively feel there is more to his gruff nature; as indeed there is.

Nienna herself remains a strong female protagonist in a male dominated world and grows throughout as is necessary for her survival. I really rooted for her throughout.

A particular favourite is the character of Saark: certainly one to rival any Mr Grey! The banter between Saark and Kell is delicious, and the constant battle between pampered, sword-fighting dandy and manly, gruff warrior never loses its humour.

The back drop of a post-apocalyptic world serves well for epic battles and treacherous journeys which kept me engaged throughout. Equally, the change of scenes, plot twists and constant cliff hangers made this book hard to put down; luckily I had the trilogy so could continue straight onto book two after the 'dum...dum...dum' ending of the first novel.

I must admit, some of the battle scenes are quite graphic, and made a squeamish reader like myself slightly uncomfortable, but the spell binding narrative made me bite my lip and carry on!

A very enjoyable couple of weeks spent reading these tasks, and I can't wait to read some more of Remic's stuff.

Perhaps the fourth...that follows the adventures of Saark and Kell! Hope the writer/publisher is reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing 31 May 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
These three book are amazing, Kell is a powerfull character.
There no man or beast or clockwork vampire that can defeat him while he hold is mighty butterfly bladed axe.
He is simply known as the legend an it's known throughout the land an Iis a constant echo of terror in the black pike mountains.
If you want fantasy an action, follow Kell on his adventures an don't stop reading till the end, I know I couldn't.

I've read most of Remics novels an I would always recommend him to any reader.
Weather it be the kombat k novels or the spiral, quake and warhead trilogy.
Once you start you'll always be wanting more, I know I am.

Please never stop writing.

Others have already commented on this however the main character basically a wholesale copy of Druss (albeit a darker version) from the David Gemmell series, even down to calling everyone "laddie" and being called "old horse" by his sidekick. This is not necessarily a bad thing however, the overall plot of the book is interesting however I have docked two stars from my review due to the characters occasionally behaving in unbelievable and illogical ways and the frequent cumbersome and irritating sentence structure.
