Our roman blinds have very long cords and I bought these to keep the cords out of my son's way. They do the job but it takes ages to wind up the cord. It would be more effective just using a piece of cardbord with notches cut out of it. I then bought the Babydan Cord Winder and recommend these instead. They are spring loaded so the cord winds up at the press of a button.

This doesn't work on my blinds as they have plastic bobbles on the string and a large plastic piece where the ends join. Unable to make my blind safe now.
