4.0 out of 5 stars Roller Blinds 23 Feb 2010
Verified Purchase
I just brought 2 pairs of these, one pair for each car and they seem pretty good.

For larger four door cars, the blind works by clipping over the top of the window, this might cause an issue with the window closing on some cars, on our Corolla, the effect was minimal. The blind then pulls open and stays open, it is attached to the bottom of the window by either a suction cup or by sticking a piece of velcro (supplied) to the door. I suspect most will use the suction cup option but it is nice to have another option. On a car this size, the blind does not fill the window so you have to decide on the optimal position for it to protect your child from the sun.

Our other car is a Yaris and is only a two door so clipping to the top of the window is not an option, fortunately some suction cups are provided which clip into the hooks allowing the suction cups to attach the blind to the window. Size wise, these were about right, attaching the blinds at a slight angle allows them to cover more of the window than hanging straight down. So far they have yet to fall off but I can imagine that being a problem as is oftem the case with suction cups. This method of fixing would also work on foor doors where the hooks are a little to big to allow the window to close sufficiently.

The blinds can be closed by pushing a little button on the side of the blind rather than by tugging on the blind so a small child pulling it will not cause it to roll up again.

Colour wise these are nearly black on the inside and a creamy colour on the outside. The black is fine but the cream does look a little aged.

For the price these are a nice pair of blinds that will fit most cars and do the job you expect and for this price, you can't expect a lot more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 2 April 2014

One of the other reviewers has described exactly how these work already and I'd second and recommend that review. What I love about these is the options they give you around hooking the blinds over the top of the window so you don't have to rely on the suckers but then they also provide the suckers just in case you can't use the hooks. I've put one of these in each of our two cars, a VW Polo and a VW Golf, unfortunately neither car was able to accept the hook over the top of the window so we're using the suckers in both cars. However, they're perfectly adequate and we've not had any incidents of the blinds falling off at any point. At the bottom of the blind is an option for securing it in place with a third sucker or with velcro (again all supplied). Another point worth noting (if you really are drawn to these by the hook over the window feature) is that I'd think for most cars with electric windows they're not going to accept the hooks - our Golf (with electric windows at the back) simply winds the window back down as it seems to detect a finger is trapped and so the safety mechanism cuts in to unwind again - our Polo (with manual windows at the back) was unable to wind the window up fully with the hook over the top. Don't get too caught up with these hooks though, the suckers really do work. For the price of these things I'd thoroughly recommend them!

5.0 out of 5 stars I bought this for our kitchen window! 24 Oct 2010
By Hans

We have a window in the kitchen were it wouldn't work to put regular blinds, so this was the perfect solution for the summer when the light of the sun is too bright and makes it impossible to cook. Now in October, we hardly get a chance to see the sun light so we kept the blinds rolled up at the very top of the window waiting for the next summer!

4.0 out of 5 stars Blind Happiness 8 Oct 2010
By P. Hart
They do what they say on the tin. Very pleased. Not wide enough to cover the whole of a Ford Focus window if used vertically so have mounted them horizontally and they work perfectly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does a job, but breaks quite quickly 18 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase
For the first few weeks these blinds were fantastic. They are easy to fit, simply clipping over the top of the window. And they work really well to keep the full glare of the sun out of the car. They will continue to be great provided you don't want to roll them up at any point. After no more than a month, the spring failed in both blinds meaning that they will not roll back and are permanently stuck in the "down" position. While this is better than them being jammed closed, it's a bit frustrating that they broke so quickly.

Given the apparent design weakness, it would be better if they had a manual "rewind" feature that could be used because battling against the broken spring is a challenge. The other solution is to unclip them from the window, but this makes refitting them a pain, particularly if you are on the move.

All things considered, these work but they're not brilliant. I'd recommend shopping around and reading reviews of other products to see if there are any that don't have a problem with the return spring before buying these ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and effective 11 Feb 2013

I'm using it on the second car already. It resists well to the normal use. Since it doesn't have painted drawings, the children do not feel too curious with it, therefore it's easier to keep it on the car window, blocking the sun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Blinds
These are perfect, fit easily and the fact that you get 2 is an added bonus. The kids however like making them shoot up by pressing on the retracting button.
