I've never really worn makeup before until recently but have been having an intestinal problem that's caused a severe flareup of my rosacea for the past month or so that's left my entire face and upper half of my neck red and blotchy. I did some research into different brands of cosmetics and tried a few different things at cosmetics counters and decided on this product. As someone who has never worn makeup before I didn't want something that feels like I'm wearing something plastered on my face. This redness foundation from Clinique has been great. It fully evens out my face tone without having to use any concealer and doesn't feel like I'm wearing any makeup at all. A couple of other brands that I tried at makeup counters made my face feel itchy and definitely made me look and feel like I was wearing makeup. I did also get a pressed powder to set it with but that's the only other product that I have to use and it seems to keep it on all day. I wouldn't recommend buying it through Amazon however, it was actually less expensive at Nordstrom's Clinique counter where I bought it than the price it's being offered for here on Amazon. The counters can also help you pick out the right tone to use if you need help with that sort of thing which I definitely did. It seems kind of pricey to someone like me who hasn't purchased cosmetics before but I do know that it's actually quite a bargain because cosmetics can be quite pricey, especially for the good ones. Overall I've been very pleased with the results and will keep using it until my face calms down.
Update: It just got hot here where I live this week and I found out that unfortunately this makeup does not hold up to sweating. It doesn't look like it's melting off my face or anything like that but it feels like it is which is a horrible sensation and makes you run and check your face every five minutes. I went down to the drug store and bought a stick of yellow concealer that I've been using the last couple of days that seems to work just as well without the melting feel so I probably won't be using this again during the summer months since I sweat quite a bit and that's causing it to loose a couple of stars since my first review.
Its getting it's two stars back because after experimenting I found out the problem was with the pressed powder that I bought with this, not with the foundation. With a loose powder it actually stays on really well and doesn't feel like it's melting on my face when I sweat. The pressed powder is going to get returned to the store where I purchased them.
