Product Description

Review

It is well organised both chronologically and topically, and has admirably achieved its goal to imbue readers with problem-solving skills, evaluation techniques and clinical decision-making. Finally, in addressing topical and relevant clinical scenarios, this book is, on the whole, a very interesting read, and likely to become a favourite with its intended audience. Finally an Oxford Handook MCQ book.

Just as fantastic as its big brother the OHCS, this is the essential accompaniment to this text.
Packed full of MCQs and EMQs it is the perfect revision guide to test your knowledge. It has detailed explanations for each answer as well as referencing you back to the OHCS should you wish to learn more.

Singularly one of the best MCQ books on the market as not only does it test, but it teaches, and with the cross referencing you can save time trying to read around the topic as you know just exactly where you need to go.

A perfect new MCQ book for medical students and junior doctors.

Having found the Oxford Handbooks essential items during medical school I decided to order the Assess and Progress Volumes. I have used a large range of EMQ and MCQ books and websites in the past, but none have been to the right level. This book provides a wealth of MCQ's (the format of the Manchester exam) and then some EMQ's at the end of each chapter, which is split into the specialities seen in the Oxford Handbook.
It provides concise, useful information in the back, explaining the answer to each question. Many answers also provide links to sites with relevant information if you want to read further.
The questions also cover ehtical and legal issues, which I have often found lacking in many EMQ and MCQ books for medical exams and finals. The Dermatology section also has excellent pictures, all within this small book!
For any medical students in their clinical years, this i the best MCQ book I have seen yet for preparing for written exams, and I highly recommend buying it.
