Product Description

Review

"What makes the book unique is that it has a single author, and the same crisp writing style exists from the first page to the last. All of the chapters flow beautifully. Clinical Dermatology is highly recommended for general practitioners and will likely be the only dermatology textbook needed." JAMA, April 11, 2012-Vol 307, No. 14, p1534

***2010 BMA Book Awards - Highly Commended - Medicine category***

"This is an easy to use book, with beautiful clear illustrations and a useful disorders index. It is easy to use as a quick reference with well-laid-out tables and internet access." "Judges Comments"

Very good book by American authors. Need to extrapolate local drugs from BNF to make it relevant. As always... American books tend to be clear and hammer in a concept till it has no alternative but to sink into your brain. No undue reliance on language and semantics. Like it.

Used every day 3 Jun 2011
By drcooker - Published on Amazon.com

I am an urgent care physician and have been using an earlier edition and now this edition in my practice. I use it for teaching both students and residents who rotate with me, and often will use it with patients to illustrate why I do (or don't) think their rash is what they think it is. My older edition has started to fall apart and luckily a new edition was available. I have learned so much from the text and feel very confident in my dermatology diagnosis and treatments. I have used other references, but I always come back to my Habif for confirmation. It clearly is the best reference.

Great reference but also written for students. 31 Dec 2010

I got this as a reference book to keep around but before doing my 4th year Derm rotation opened it up and found that it has a nice preface for how a medical student can use it to get up to speed on dermatology. I've only read the first few chapters but it's readable as a text as well as being a well known reference book. They added two chapters in this edition at the beginning that help you to make a differential diagnosis based on the type of lesion and the location.

Great reference book 21 May 2011

I had the older edition of this book, and I used it so much in my practice as a family practice P.A. that I bought the newer edition as soon as it was available. The doctors in my office weren't familiar with this one when I first brought it to the office. They now love it, too! Highly recommended.
