A* for a swift delivery from ClimaxDigital. This is an excellent product. It was very easy to install. The only problem was that the software disk that came with the product is not compatible with 64bit Windows 7. The response to my email about compatibility was very quick and I was able to download the 64bit version of the software. The other thing that bothers me is that on some of my homemade videos during capture, it stops with a message that the tape is copyright protected. The way I got around that issue was to stop the capture with the tape still running and then start the capture again. My system is HP P6530. I will recommend this gagdet to anyone.

Inexpensive gadgets such as this have had mixed reviews and I ordered one of these half-expecting abject failure. However, it's easy to install (read the instructions carefully) and once you've got your head round tbe software, easy to use. So far the results I've had are pretty good. The only downsides have been occasional hiccups in the soundtrack (possibly buffering in action, though no syncing problems evident) and also spurious copyright-protected messages coming up when transferring home videos. The editing software works well, but writing a high-quality file, either to your hard drive or DVD takes an age - about an hour on a reasonable spec laptop. A medium res Mpeg file (for viewing on Windows Media Player for example) takes about 10 mins for a fairly short film. The Youtube upload facility works particularly well. If like me you're new to this area, a little gadget like this is well worth a try.

Finally got to convert my Video to DVD. The device did not come with an s-video cable. All the conections were female with male converters, but no S-video. The visual quality is poor. I converted the images into Pinical Studio and was able to improve the sound quality though. Thought the finished DVD would be of a much higher quality than it is. Still lovely to see images I have not seen for a long time for instance my Gran, who died 14 years ago is now on my computor!!!

Copies both video and/or audio
Took a bit of setting up on Windows 7 64 bit. Had to get drivers off the web but have copied several home made videos with good results.

Does not work for Windows 7
