Product Description

Product Description

Mark Langham, whilst working for the Weather Research Section at N.A.S.A., developed a satellite-based system capable of calming the extremes of weather by influencing the earth’s magnetic field. He got the idea from the changes in the weather seen when electrically charged particles from solar storms hit the field. He could not however, have foreseen the circumstances which now throw the world’s weather into the turmoil "Climate Control" was created to ease. Mark must now regain control of the system....before it is too late.

More About the Author

I live in Kent in England with my wife and cat.

I was reading a book by a best selling author whilst on holiday, when I found a detail so implausible I said "I could write better than this". My wife responded "go on then".

Climate Control is the result.

I can't give it one star as I did finish it.
I'm failing to see what many of the reviewers did though - one-dimensional characters, with inexplicable motives. The loving couple ... really? They disliked or disagreed on everything.
The story itself was ok but with the major loophole - they could obviously have hacked at any time, and therefore gained all 3 - that made the whole thing a bit pointless.
The attack on the city just went on and on and on, didn't find it at all interesting.
And the names were a touch too Enid Blyton - if you're Tom, Dick or Harry you're ok, but Johnny Foreigner is automatically guilty.

3.0 out of 5 stars An interesting concept 25 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This was a really interesting and slightly terrifying concept which made me want to read on to find out how the story unfolded. The power of the weather is effectively conveyed and provides the backbone to the story. The plot twists and turns until the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars an excellent read 13 Oct 2014

Great story on a very topical issue woven into global politics, my only criticism would be (spoiler alert)! The description of damage on the east coast went on for too long. Other than that, a good thriller.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better 15 Oct 2012
By Ignite TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book sounded promising when I read the blurb. A satellite system called Climate Control is protecting areas from the worst weather. There is a terrorist attack, a dreadful storm and a high octane finish. However, I found the style of writing curiously clinical and uninspiring. It was very detached, like reading an instruction manual. Dialogue wasn't very convincing; a married couple spoke to each other as though they were addressing a committee. There was a randomness in the use of apostrophes, particularly in plurals and there were several homophones in use.

It's a good idea but I wasn't convinced by the exectution. I would like to have been made to feel involved in the story and to care more about the characters but I found them all rather bland. It strikes my mind but not my heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars My review of this book - Climate Control. 15 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have highly rated this book as a must read, recommended to me by a family member.

From page one I found I could not put down the book and would be impatient and eager to know what the next page/chapter contained.

The storyline I found extremely enjoyable, exciting and easy to follow, with all aspects of the book being described in great depth, with very clear visual descriptions of the scenes, characters, roles and the areas in which they lived/worked. The Author provided very detailed, precise explainations, creating the feeling of being part of the story and creating the feeling of watching the story on the screen.

It is obvious that time had been spent by the Author researching into the locations where the story was set and the specialised equipment being used.

I will be recommending this book to friends as a must read and felt that the ending was an opening for a further book.

An excellent read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Climate Control - a very good read 9 Oct 2012
By Suze
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I downloaded this book as a freebie at the weekend, and would have been quite happy had I paid for it. I found it to be well written with no obvious formatting or spelling errors. The plot was interesting and very believable and appeared to have been very well researched. My only complaint, which is something and nothing really, is that some of the characters seemed far too sugary sweet. I will certainly buy more from this author when he publishes.
