Click is a high-concept, low-brow variation on It's a Wonderful Life that will have Adam Sandler fans laughing even as it leaves Frank Capra spinning in his grave. In their third collaboration (after The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy, Sandler and director Frank Coraci aim at the lowest common denominator and consistently hit their target, from scary casting (David Hasselhoff as Sandler's shallow, sexist boss; Sean Astin in a tight red Speedo) to a rancid menu of fart jokes, fat jokes, over-sexed dogs, and other attempts at humor that rarely rise above the level of grade-school pranks. Sandler's "family comes first" sentiment somehow manages to survive the onslaught of rude, crude attitude that Sandler brings to his role as Michael Newman, a workaholic architect who learns the hard way that, well, family comes first. This happens after Newman gets a magical remote control from Morty (Christopher Walken, the film's one and only highlight), an eccentric oddball in the "Beyond" section of a Bed, Bath & Beyond store who's a devillish version of Wonderful Life's benevolent guardian angel. But Sandler's no James Stewart as he uses his techno-marvel (complete with a DVD-like "life menu") to fast-forward through his life's most unpleasant moments, only to realize that he's been missing lots of good stuff, too. Synopsis

His breaking point: the multitude of remote controls in the house are driving him nuts, and Michael ventures out late one evening in search of a universal remote control to simplify his life.
His quest leads him to the back room at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Morty (Christopher Walken), the archetypical mad scientist with wild hair, a bowtie, and zany glasses. Michael returns home armed with a top-of-the-line universal remote, but soon realises that it does more than control the household appliances: the new remote actually works on time and people. Click is one of Sandler's better movies, and this proves that he can make a good film that does not require him to play flawed charecters like Little Nicky (speech impediment, thanks to his brother hitting him in the face with a shovel), Billy Madison (immature adult) and Waterboy (a mummies boy that isn't allowed to play fools ball)for a cheap laugh, as good as i do think the above films are.
I do like how Adam Sandler works with the same few actors in the majority of his films with Sean Astin (50 1st dates) and Henry (the Fonz) Winkler (Little Nicky and Waterboy) making worthy appearances in Click.
Understandably, some will not like the moralistic route this film takes, but i think that is what helps to make the film.

Before I watched this film, I thought it would be one of those... not really funny at all films that tried too hard to be funny, like those cheesy kids films they're passing off as comedic these days.
Not a bit of it.
It all begins with Adam Sandler (who plays the role very well) when he finds he has little time to spend with his family because his demanding boss (David Hasselhoff) constantly forces work on him. So one thing leads to another, Adam can't keep up and goes in search for a universal controller to help keep on top of all his electrical devices. Just so happens the controller he eventually gets is a special one which can control everything and anything.
This film is, as other reviewers have put, a real tear-jerker. Usually because I was laughing too hard, but although you wouldn't have thought it, there are quite emotional moments as well.
The ending, I found, was quite clever and I didn't expect it. Some may not like it, but I didn't see it coming which is always good :)
So then, I strongly suggest you do what I have done and order your DVD ASAP: this is one film you really can't afford to miss.

This film is charming. Along with 'Reign over me', I think Adam Sandler's films have taken on a self-maturing quality. Not only is the soundtrack excellent, but the plot - which is in itself laughable in its integrity in places - is actually a very brilliant little deceiver. At first, I found the acting woody - fancy casting Beckinsale as wifey -; but, gradually, this film grew on me like some beneficial fungus. The whole film is quite a rollercoaster ride, and I'm peeved that I never saw it in its cinematic glory. Check it out in whichever way possible, and also watch reign over me.

Fantastic storyline
