The test is easy to use – the Colour Change Tip and the control window show the test is working. Most importantly, it is doctor recommended – Clearblue is the brand most recommended by doctors in research carried out in the UK. The Clearblue Pregnancy Test with Colour Change Tip works by detecting the pregnancy hormone hCG in your urine and is over 99% accurate when used from the day your period is due. Clearblue recommends that you test from the day your period is due. However, Clearblue Pregnancy Test with Colour Change Tip can be used up to 4 days before your period is due. How does the Clearblue Colour change Pregnancy Test work? Average levels of hCG circulating in your body during pregnancy and after giving birth. Point 1 is Implantation and Point 2 is birth. Week 3 As soon as a fertilised egg is implanted in the lining of your womb (implantation), your body starts producing the pregnancy hormone, human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG). Although the length of the menstrual cycle varies between women, many women will have their next period 12-16 days after ovulation. If you are pregnant, in most women, by the day your period is due, the level of hCG in your body will be detectable by a Clearblue pregnancy test. Week 4 If you do a Clearblue Pregnancy test and your result is 'Pregnant', your first step is to make an appointment with your doctor for advice on how best to look after yourself and your baby during these crucial first weeks of pregnancy, and also later on. If you do a Clearblue Pregnancy test and the result is 'Not Pregnant', but you still think you might be pregnant, wait for 3 days and test again. The level of hCG increases so rapidly that the level will be much higher 3 days after originally testing, and will show if you are pregnant. Week 5 The level of hCG doubles approximately every 2-3 days. hCG helps to maintain the pregnancy. It is thought that this is the hormone responsible for morning sickness. Week 7-12 Sometimes between weeks 7-12, the level of hCG peaks and then drops almost as rapidly as it increased, which is why morning sickness often drops off after the first 12 weeks or so of pregnancy. Week 15 The level of hCG then stays at a steady, elevated level for the rest of the pregnancy and for up to 3 weeks after giving birth. The level of hCG is elevate above normal levels for up to 9 weeks if you have had a miscarriage or termination. If you do a Clearblue Pregnancy test during this time, it will be impossible to know if the 'Pregnant' result is caused by a new pregnancy or by the residual hCG from your previous pregnancy. In this situation, it is worth making an appointment with your doctor. |     |

When you’re ready to do your Clearblue Pregnancy Test with Colour Change Tip, simply remove the one-piece Test Stick from its individual foil wrapper and take off the cap.
You can test directly in your urine stream, or in a sample of your urine collected in a clean, dry container. Hold the Colour Change Tip pointing downwards either in your urine stream, or in your collected urine sample, for 5 seconds only.
The Colour Change Tip will quickly turn pink, showing that urine is being absorbed, but it’s important to continue to hold it in the urine for the full 5 seconds.
Keep the Colour Change Tip pointing downwards or lie the Test Stick flat until the line has appeared in the Control Window. You can read your result after 2 minutes.
If you’re testing from the day your period is due, you can test at any time of the day. If testing early, you should use the first urine of the day. You should avoid drinking excessive amounts of fluids before testing.
A blue line will appear in the Control Window within 2 minutes to show that the test has worked. Read your result after 2 minutes.
* If there is a ‘–‘ in the Result Window when the line in the Control Window appears, your result is ‘Not Pregnant’.
* If there is a ‘+’ in the Result Window when the line in the Control Window appears, your result is ‘Pregnant’.
It does not matter if one of the lines that make up the ‘+’ symbol is lighter or darker than the other; the result is ‘Pregnant'. The appearance of the ‘+’ symbol in the Result Window may vary, however, the lines that make up the ‘+’ symbol and the line in the Control Window should be of a similar width.
If you are still unsure of your result, you should wait at least 3 days before testing again, taking care to follow the instructions.

Clearblue Pregnancy Testing Kit - Twin Pack 94039
this is the ONLY pregnancy test to give me a totally clear positive result. i have been seeing faint positives on the internet cheapies for about 5 days and they are so light it is inconclusive.
a friend of mine gave me an american test to use from the dollar tree store, and that gave me a better pink line but still very faint. the next day i drove to sainsbury's to buy a digital test. they only had 1 box left of clearblue's and that was the + - kind of line test. i bought it anyway even though i think they are very expensive.
i tested the next morning and got a faint positive on both the clearblue tests in the box.
the next day i used first response, and got a very very very faint line. not great.
i tested again this morning with another clearblue + - test, and got an undeniable positive result within 2 minutes. finally - an answer. i can stop testing and fretting. even my husband could see the test lines clearly. what a relief. thanks clearblue.
they are extremely simple to use, and will show results as promised within 2 minutes. the positive result seems to remain visibile for a while too.

I'm used to using Clearblue Digital tests, but this month switched to this product in order to save some money. Totally wish I hadn't now as the money I did spend has been wasted on these tests. As another reviewer said on Amazon, I too got instant negetive lines appear on my tests but the control panel line, which confirms the test is working, never appeared, even after 10 mins. Each test was used following Clearblue's instructions. I even used one test in a stream of liquid for 5 seconds, and the other test in collected liquid in a cup for 5 seconds and both methods gave me the same negetive line straight away with no line confirming that the test had worked. Do not bother buying the product! I still trust Clearblue because I've never had a problem with their digital tests, but I will never waste my money, time or emotions on their plus/minus products again. They have left me more than upset....

before the control window showed up the negative line was already there. so I wasn't sure if it worked or not. so I used the other one the next day and again when I looked at it I could already see the negative line showing. I find I have wasted my money on this. I'm very disappointing.
so I'm going to wait till a few days after my period and go and buy another product.

didn't work at all
well i bought it 'coz I was afraid to be pregnant...basically it didn't work as after using it the test didn't showanyhthing like the notice and I feel like I lost my money

Really misleading - do not buy!
I was really frustrated by these tests. 3 out of the 4 I did (on different days AFTER my period was due) had such bad evaporation lines on them that I was left wondering for days... Read more

Didnt Show me what I wanted
