Take a trip along some of Scotland's most beautiful stretches of railway, including a ride on a steam train from Fort William to Mallaig and an Intercity 125 across the Forth Bridge. The full excitement of travel by train is captured by cameras mounted in the cab and in helicopters flying above.

This non technical film about Scotland's highland rail routes has got everything, steam, diesel and sprinters. It has views from the air, the cab and trackside. If you could only have one DVD about Scotland's railways - this is the one.

This is a well-executed piece of filming, and the camera position in the cab gives an excellent forward view. Inevitably, it does not cover all the Scottish lines, and the Kingdom of Fife appears to have disappeared: we move from the Forth Bridge almost immediately to the Tay Bridge!
My only complaint is that I had to switch off my sub-woofer, as there is some stray low frequency noise, but once it was off the sound was excellent.
If you love Scotland and railways, this is one you must have!

This is the second time we have purchased this, the first one was a tape and we all loved and played it so much it had to be replaced with a DVD. So that says it all I think!
Our 3 year old Grandson now enjoys it too but not quite so much from the drivers eye view but I think he will in time.

If you love the Scottish highlands as we do, buy it!
