Fabulous cookbook! It has many old recipes in it that my mom cooked and many new ones that I want to experiment with. Both of my daughters looked thru it and tried to take it home with them! So needless to say, I will be ordering 2 more cookbooks.

I found ingredient lists that were incomplete for some recipes and others that are missing preparation steps.
An experienced cook can work out what's missing, but it's inconvenient to have to do so. I'd've preferred more photos of the ingredients and finished dishes also. *Highly* recommend not buying this as your first / only Tex-Mex source -- better books are out there to describe not just techniques but ingredients and how to make Tex-Mex from scratch, for those who have special dietary requirements.

I purchased this cookbook hoping for some good Tex-Mex recipes. I received much more. The book has recipes for everyday, as well as special-occasion, cooking. The recipes use ingredients that most of us have in our pantry. It also has Texas facts, tid-bits and "wisdom-isms". My only criticism is that the index is a little difficult to use as the author doesn't always use the common name for a dish. However, I really like the book and will be using it often.
