This record player is overly priced and shoddily made! I received this as a Christmas gift from my husband. I opened it early on Christmas Day but didn't have time to play any records then because we had loads of guests and I had to cook the dinner. I could hardly focus on cooking because all I could think about was plugging in the record player and listening to my precious vinyl again! As soon as our guests left at around midnight, I put a record on. I'm still trying to get over what happened next! Just as I set the arm down to play the first song on a virtually unplayed 33rpm record, the needle literally skidded and screeched across the entire surface of the record. I have been listening to records most of my life and this has NEVER happened to me before (I'm about 30). I tried another record. The same thing happened. Again and again. I realised the problem was with the tone arm. It's made of such a flimsy stick of cheap plastic, there's really no weight to it at all! Good thing I had a brand new packet of Stick n' Fix on hand. It took 5 little sqares of it to hold the needle down enough to play my records without skipping too much. By the way, this piece of junk will play 45's ok without weight on the needle. But as long as the sides aren't too long, you'll be satisfied. The turntable stops automatically at a certain point. I've found that most of my 45's do not end by the time the turntable decides to stop. That means lots of abrupt and warped sounding endings to my favourite songs! And I haven't even mentioned the sound quality yet! WHAT 'quality'?! There is NONE! Best hook this thing up to your telly or some quality speakers. Don't be fooled. This is not some hi tech piece of kit. It's cheaply made RUBBISH!

...and that's being polite. Extremely lightweight and fragile-looking. Think of a tic-tac box, but bigger. Looked more like a child's toy and was repacked and sent back within 5 mins.

bought one at a low priced promotion(from a shop that will remain nameless)it looks nice, but when i tested it(with an old record)it is unbeliveably bad, other than making every record sound like a bee on a vespa, singles cut out before they reach the end, would not risk putting good vynal on it,as stylus seems to have a mind of its own,so what did i do with it?return it?no,i gave it to my elderly grandmothers resident housing, where it is pride of place for playing jim reeves, and highland bagpipe music.better models avaliable for not much more,so i dont recomend this one.
