Product Description

The Floris Special No.127 Eau de Toilette is part of their Classic range of fine fragrances, a collection of some of the most unique created in their 276 year history. This refreshingly original fragrance combines Orange and Bergamot with Neroli, Petitgrain and Orange-flower. Created in 1890 for Russia's Grand Duke Orloff while exiled in Paris, this fragrance was originally called the 'Orloff Special'. Some years later the name became Special No. 127 after the page number it occupied in the Specials formula book. Special No. 127 is a gender non-specific fragrance and devoted wearers have included Noel Coward and Eva Peron. Product packaging may differ slightly from that shown.

5.0 out of 5 stars A timeless scent for the modern man 28 Mar 2011
After the makers of the aftershave I'd been wearing for over two decades saw fit to "update" their recipe, turning my once-favourite scent into something with as much class as "Hai Karate", I was forced to seek out something else.

Some Googling for the tones that I'd been used to turned up the name "Floris 89". It wasn't something I'd heard of before, but I took a gamble and I'm very glad I did.

I'll be honest and say that it when it first goes on it can appear a little over-powering, with a floral aroma that some have described as "Grandma's makeup powder", but it quickly relaxes and the woody undertones settle in to a very subtle, masculine scent.

The acid test was my wife, who complained bitterly that nothing would replace the aftershave I'd been wearing for as long as we've know each other, but just last week, I got the "mmmmm, god, you smell good" seal of approval from her. That's good enough for me!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Quintessential English Gentleman's Scent 4 Jan 2011
This scent is simply the very finest that I have found anywhere in the world. Suave and sophisticated yet totally understated. Superb for all occasions. The fact that it has remained unchanged for so many decades is testament to its timeless appeal.
