I bought this book as initial guide for helping me in adapting my own car to my desired standards (a Saab 900, 1995). The interior of my car was black and ugly, and I decided to change it to light beige. I bought the leather seats cover, sorry but I am a beginner, but decided to make the carpet, headliner and door trim panels.
I found in that book not just a help, but even more, a vital reference for what now it is my hobbie.
Thank you Mr. Henson; your explanations are clear, simple, intelligent and you made that, the most important, that I trusted in my own ability for restoring parts that before I was not even dreaming I could do it... And I am enjoying it.
Thanks also to heynes which their manuals are simply the best.

At last a reprint of this great book. There's nothing more comprehensive for the amateur who just wants to do what he can at home. Everything described and photographed in the usual way with the Haynes guide. Cannot praise it highly enough.

Having read the other reviews on this book I was persuaded to purchase.
Being a novice at repairing car upholstery I figured that this would be as detailed as all the other Haynes publications I have purchased in the past but, regrettably I was wrong.
I feel that this is way short on detail and way heavy on terminology for a novice and will give me no confidence that I will know what I am doing.
The cost would have been better used in purchasing a seat to practise on and work out the detail for myself.

In a book like this it's difficult to go in to details for specific vehicles, but basically it's all there, with helpful guidance and good illustration, so anyone with a modicum of practical talent can do a decent job.

Whether it's the vinyl seating of a Plymouth Road Runner or the lovely old leather in an Austin Seven, this book will help.

Exactly what we needed to completely refurbish the interior of our 1937 vintage Morris 8 car. Illustrations and explanation of techniquies required are easy to follow. Hints and tips are also a big bonus as well as helping the complete beginner with advice and guidance.Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Good if you are restoring an existing car that has all the upholstery intact for you to copy... not so good if you don't. Also basic fit out (making panels, parcel shelves etc) with wood not covered at all. The clue is in the title I guess, but there must be better books out there.

Bought as a gift. In the usual style of Haynes manuals there are tons of photos (only black & white) & illustrations to guide you, and lots of advice & tips that are not in the standard car manuals. A must-have for every classic car owner.
