It's been a long wait- but worth it, 2 Mar 2010
FLC are back and - it's a great record. There are some nice up-beat tracks here with some cool funky horns and a catchy chorus or two. There's a definate 70's vibe going on here. Stand out tracks at a first listen are 'We, the Three' (great verse from Frank), 'Classic Fantastic' and 'She Sings At The Sun'. This album has a little more variety than the last couple and frankly, that's what the boys needed. I like it very much and would hope that it will bring in a few new fans to the FLC fold. I'd love to see them do 'We The Three' live.

Patchy, but some classic Criminal activity, 13 Mar 2010
It's been a while since Huey, Fast and Frank TRM were out and about. Huey seems to be a professional gent about town and media these days, so I guess he is keeping himself busy enough, but I'm glad that FLC have not slipped into oblivion. Always carving their own quirky path through the musical world, Classic Fantastic sees the Crims take no significant step forward in stylistic approach or attitude. This set of songs contains the now familiar mix of seventies funkesque, Huey's trademark growling rap, and Fast's endless musical ingenuity, with loops, samples and clattering horns and thumping bass dominating the mix. The song quality is a little variable overall, so I'd give it 3.5 stars (3.75?). The good stuff is great, classic FLC, deserving to be cranked up loud and bellowed along to, but it's not "100% Columbian" unfortunately. Still a band that are very much worth listening to, and who I still keep coming back to.

Classic indeed...lovin' it! :), 12 Sep 2010
The FLC's are back and things have picked up as we left them. Some excellent, funky tunes (Classic Fantastic, The Originals...) and chilled out classics (Mister Sun, Rewind...) and plenty of fun thrown in (Conversations With Our Attorney makes me laugh each time I hear it). This is a great album with plenty of classic FLC styles on offer to please any fan, but if you're not a fan (can't see why not?) then this probably won't convert you. The album probably won't get the classic status that the title suggests and receive the acknowledgements that Come Find Yourself deservedly got but it definitely deserves 5 stars. I am going to see the guys in concert next week and if all they play are the songs off this album and a few classics from their impressive back catalogue then I will be a happy, chilled out bunny! :) Get a copy, sit back, relax and enjoy some of the funkiest tunes from NY's finest export. Take some advice from Huey "I never take myself too seriously, cus everyone knows fat birds don't fly". Love you guys.
