Format:Audio CD
Marketing is over-rated in my opinion and this boxed-set illustrates why. Take some of the most beautiful and lyrical music for orchestra ever written, record it well, and then wrap it up in a package that is guaranteed to put off every red-blooded male on the planet. Why is this packaged as if the only sort of people who can appreciate music of this quality are eight year-old girls? I only found out about it by buying it as a present and then realising how good it was when it arrived. Ignore the fairy on the box! It's well produced and well selected. I like it alot, and I am too big for a tutu.

I'm certainly no "little girl" but I still love this Ballet CD. All the usual favourites are here, the romance, the drama, and the fun - have a gallumph around the living room to the "Clog Dance" if you don't believe me!
My one grouse is the fondant-pink cover - yuck! - for why can't "little boys" listen to this album, too? There are quite a few getting interested in a career in dance, again, after all.
Still, you can always hide the sleeve under something - it's the music that's important, and this is a good quality, enjoyable CD.

Although the selection of tracks is good the overall effect is a poor quality CD as the volume is inconsitent so to hear some tracks you have to increase the volume and then reduce it again. It is not due to the actual tune.

Classic FM Ballet
Bought for my grandaughter as she is in her 5th year of ballet, modern and tap dancing. She thinks it's really lovely and can picture herself in years to come!!
