This is a good book for the electrical novice, but it's not the best. In some ways this book is brilliant, for starters it makes understanding how electric works far easier to comprehend than complicated explanations offered elsewhere. There are many useful tips and advice offered in various stages throughout the book, and best of all, every single photograph is reproduced in colour. The paper is glossy which despite the soft back cover gives the book a quality feel to it. The book is well written and easy to understand, although people in 'the know' may find this book little help in expanding their knowledge. If you are buying this book for information on how to use a multimeter, this isn't really the book for you because although the multimeter is covered in its own chapter, it offers very little information concerning the use of multimeters. In fairness this book is more aimed at restoration than diagnosis and on that front it scores pretty well. How to strip and rebuild a starter motor, dynamo and lights are all covered in detail. If understanding a wiring diagram leaves you cold, this book will do little to help matters! Overall a pretty good book but not the best.
