After searching through all the slow cooker cook books available, and having already bought two that just weren't what I was really looking for, I settled on this one because the reviews were very good.

I couldn't have made a better choice. The recipes are terrific and very easy to follow. The ingredients are readily available.

I have had the book for 4 weeks now and have used it (on average) 3-4 times a week to make a lovely range of meals (Duck Ragu today). The hints & tips and advice on adapting recipes to suit you and your own slow cooker are sensible.

The recipe sections are neatly divided by main Ingredient - Beef, Lamb, Pork, Poultry & Game, Fish & Seafood and Vegetables & Pulses. The chef's notes and tips that accompany each recipe are very useful.

I am about to purchase two more of this title for my daughter and daughter-in-law. You can't say better than that, can you?

If you are looking for a great Slow Cooker Cook Book, I thoroughly recommend this one.

An excellent collection of over 100 straightforward slow cooker recipes, divided into sections based on the main meat component of each. There's also a vegetarian section at the end. I particularly like that the recipes (mainly) don't contain any esoteric ingredients - they are largely 'store-cupboard' or easily sourced items. Other plus points: no starter or dessert recipes, or stupid photos, to waste space! Really my only quibble is that the auther refers to an 'Auto' setting (equivalent apparently to an hour on 'high' followed by 'low' for the rest of the cooking time)in some recipes - I've not come across this on any slow cooker I've used myself.

I looked through loads of books before finding and deciding on this one. My Dad has a real problem chewing meat, and after trying one of the meals cooked in my slow cooker, he was hooked! I bought him a smaller version of our slow cooker and as he has limited cooking knowledge I thought that he would be better off having recipes to work to, so ordered him this book. A sound choice. There are sections on Meat, Fish, Poultry and also a few vegetarian dishes. The book is a manageable size for the worktop, and nicely laid out. As one of the other reviewers observed, it doesnt waste time or space with pictures, it just gets straight to the point with simple, easy to follow, tasty dishes. Dad is 84 and does the cooking as Mum no longer can and he likes to be independent, so this is just perfect for him. After looking through it I went home and ordered the same one again for us! If Amazon are their usual efficient and speedy selves it should pop through the door later today in time for me to prepare supper! I would thoroughly recommend this book for all levels of cooking capabilities.

Excellent book with carefully worked out recipes which work. Recipes are all famous casserole dishes from around the world which makes cooking that much more interesting. There is normally some preparation work to do before putting everything into the pot and turning it on to cook. But this is only normal when wanting great results.
Only "shortcoming" is a complete lack of photos. But this book is cheap and pictures are unnecessary as the instructions are quite clear and simple.
Fantastic value for money.

Just exactly what I was looking for, a slow cooker recipe book of main course meat dishes. Lovely beef and chicken recipes, easy to follow and very tasty.

Looks like a this book has good recipes but bought it for my daughter as I bought her a slow cooker too but was disappointed there were no pictures at all. Not so inspiring if no photos and less likely to use it.

Have only tried a couple of the recipes so far but both were excellent (did the pot roast shoulder of lamb and pork & potato hot pot.) Although I am now retired, I still find the slow cooker to be a boon and judging by the two recipes I've tried so far I don't think I'll find the rest of the recipes to be a disappointment. I think that this will end up being one of my "go to" recipe books. Even on just these two recipes I can heartily recommend this book.

I took quite a while to choose a cook book as I have just purchased my first slow cooker. I really liked this book, the layout is very user friendly with decent size print. Some of the books I looked at had recipes for things like porridge -why would one cook porridge in a slow cooker when it takes a couple of minutes to make traditional porridge in the microwave?
The fact that the book had no desserts or drinks was a bonus for me, some reviewers had marked the book down for not having photographs but in reality most casseroles would look more or less the same in a photograph.
So far I have cooked one of the chicken recipes and the brisket in beer one, which I was assured by the family (I don't eat meat) it was delicious and I must say the meat was difficult to carve as it was so tender. I plan to do one of the Veggie recipes next which look very simple to do and do not require too many exotic ingredients.
