This arrived in an attractive gift box (a round cardboard version of the baker itself). As it was for me this didn't matter but I think it'd make a very nice foodie present for the right person :)
The good news is that a 250g standard sized Camembert fits inside this absolutely perfectly. 20 mins in the oven with the lid on resulted in a perfect, gooey pot of loveliness. Could have been wishful thinking but I think it did a better job than just baking it in the box. It came out perfectly.
As the pot retains a bit of heat, it kept the cheese at perfect temperature for a short while. How long, I couldn't say..... The cheese won't last that long!
What's the point, you may ask? Why not just bake it in the box? Well, true.... But they sometimes leak and if you just dump the cheese in a bigger dish it kind of collapses. This keeps it where it should be, keeps it warm and looks very attractive as a serving dish. If you bake Camembert regularly it's well worth picking one up.
As a bonus, it also came with a little recipe booklet. I haven't tried any of these yet (I normally just slot in a few slices of garlic and either fresh thyme or rosemary and finish with a small glug of white wine) but a couple of them sound promising.
