The oldest of the V force, it's evolution can be seen almost as a stepping stone from the piston engined bombers of WW2, into the brash new "Jet-age." The first of the three to be declared obsolete, it had left the service before I joined and I never saw it in the air. As an ex Royal Air Force vet, it brought back many memories of the cold war and familiar sights, when I worked on airfields servicing the ground navigation aids. Always spectacular, any of the V-Force, demanded attention wherever they went. The DVD goes into some of the design, test and manufacture of the Valiant, always of interest if you are inclined towards engineering. As an engineer I could argue that more of that footage was included in the content! As an aircraft enthusiast I could always wish for more flying scenes to be included. All in all a balance not easy to achieve. This DVD did manage a fair attempt at satisfying all corners to a reasonable extent. All in all I enjoyed watching it and although some might be disappointed the old adage, "You can't keep all of the people happy all of the time." Applies here. Fairly well pleased, overall, with this DVD.
