By Glenn Cook HALL OF FAME TOP 10 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
The Modern Jazz Quartet 7 Classic Albums Volume 2 contains the following albums:
The four Cd set has minimal information but at less than 2 quid per CD we can't complain can we?
The Real Gone Jazz label have re mastered all the tracks and this should give you a much better sound- certainly this is the case in other, similar releases.
BUT the big thing is that Amazon have not given us the track listings so here it is.

This is the second volume in the Modern Jazz Quartet releases on The Real Gone Jazz label.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy These CD's 13 Nov 2013
By Dick S. - Published on Amazon.com

Somehow I didn't see the reviews on this set or I would have never bought it. The sound quality is terrible on the two cd's that were most important to me. I once had 5 of the albums in this set and the sound quality of them was far superior to these. What a mistake!

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware of inferior sound, bad transfers on this one! 24 Jun 2013
By Stephen Fleschler - Published on Amazon.com

The sound of Vol.1 varied from good to excellent. This set is poor to good. Patterns was transferred with a radio station in the background on one cut. It is the poorest sounding transfer (fuzzy) of all the Real Gone sets I have purchased (5 so far). The Orchestra with... is the best sounding and it rates a good sound. I have 4 of the LPs of this set to compare with and two CDs. I don't know what happened here but this is not a good compilation transfer. By far the best was the Chico Hamilton transfer and the Modern Quartet Vol.1. I guess it is hit and miss at a low price. I've posted very positive comments on several of the other sets.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay Away 30 Nov 2013
By B.B. Lilikoi - Published on Amazon.com

I agree with "DON'T BUY THESE CDs" reviewer. Awful sound quality on the order of MP3. Sounds like vinyl ripped to digital MP3 quality and then transferred to CD-R. Just plain awful. Thin, tinny, flat, and without merit. I bought this along with the Ahmad Jamaal and I regret that. Stay away.

1.0 out of 5 stars A huge disappointment 25 Jan 2014

The sound quality is not very good at all and the disk that includes the "Patterns" album is particularly so. In general, a huge disappointment!

4.0 out of 5 stars Acceptable 5 Feb 2014

Acceptable but not the best of the Modern Jazz Quartet. I wish that they had been of later vintage. OK
