I had already seen this movie before, so I knew what I was in for: an interesting story, lots of action and great special effects. Sure, the script and the acting will never win any Academy Awards (are these even relevant anymore?) I would rate this movie in regular 2D with 4 stars, but since the 3D is well done I gave it five! The 3D really helps to suck you into the action -- which there is lots of -- and it made the movie more enjoyable for me. Audio- and video quality are top notch. Just make sure that you watch it on a big tv (I have a 55" screen); I'm not sure that watching it on a smaller screen will have the same impact. My rule of thumb for determining which screen size to get: if you're switching from a regular def tv pick the size that you think you'l need and add two sizes. If you're upgrading an HD tv, pick one size bigger than what you think you'll need...
