i recently returned a sumner video monitor as the sound stopped working on the new unit. I purchased this monitor based on its look, a few positive reviews i found and the price [$] There is a major design fault with the system whereby you only get any sound at all when the baby is crying and even then it only stays on for about 5 seconds. I spoke with Lindam today and they confirmed from their product design team that this has been noted and they are producing a new model which will be out in July 09. They offered me an exchange when the new model was available but what am i going to do for the next month or so until then! This model has great picture quality and the camera has nice uses such as a lullaby function which you can trigger from the handset (although there is no volume control on it and it is VERY loud for a sleepy baby) and has night lights which are also a nice touch. It has a circular 'wheel' on the front which is just for show and does nothing!! I am sure the new model will make up for these short comings and if so then this will no doubt be an excellent video monitor..but for now, take my advice and stay well clear (unless you purely want it for video use only). I now have a safety first video monitor which although the picture isnt as good, it does allow you to remotely move the camera around and you can zoom in on your baby which is addictive!

returned this monitor due to the annoying continuous buzzing coming from the monitor even when to volume was switched right down - dissappointed with Lindam monitors in general - previous Lindam monitor blew up upon initial use and replacement lasted 11 months before developing a fault - Lindam quibbling over waranty and previous retailer (baby security) won't help at all - at least this time i went through amazon and have had no problems returning the monitor

This monitor is the best one ever, I have had so many monitors including analogue. There is no interference whatsoever, the screen has never gone off, the battery life is amazing and its crystal clear vision and sound even at night.
