4.0 out of 5 stars Best in-car DAB that I have found, 13 July 2010

I've got one of these in my 3 Series BMW and it works pretty well. I have previously tried every portable DAB on the market but this is the best. The main problem with most in-car DAB radios is the aerial so I have got a magnetic aerial which I have found works nearly as well stuck upside down inside the boot. It means that I don't have to worry about vandalism or scratching my paintwork.

I've got the Clarity DAB connected to the power socket in my central console and audio goes via the AUX port. (You can also use the FM transmitter functionality) When I turn the car on it starts automatically and I am ready to listen. I only use it for Planet Rock so I can just leave it hidden away.

It works very well on the motorway network but tends to break up around town.

1.0 out of 5 stars Short product life and terrible customer support from seller (matrix discounts), 27 Oct 2010

This review is from: Clarity DAB In Car Radio Adaptor C-DAB7
I was bought this in-car DAB as a present in early August. The receiver itself did its' job to a satisfactory standard, however the power supply failed without warning within 2 months.

I contacted the manufacturer of the product, who pointed me to the seller for a replacement power supply under warranty. The seller's packing slip gives a "Returns line" number that is unobtainable, and their website has only an online form (which I've used twice so far to no response) as a means of contacting them.

So, in order to use the receiver again, I'll have to decide whether or not I want to pay for another power supply. I'm thinking "probably not".

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good for my purposes, 20 Dec 2010

I used to have a Pure digital radio, which I had mounted on the windscreen. I felt like it was an obvious temptation to leave it there when it was parked, so used to take the unit with me most of the time. Over time, the connections wore out from taking the wires out and putting them in repeatedly.

The Clarity is quite a bit smaller than the Pure, so I was able to hide it away where you can't really see it. This is fine for me, since I only really use it for one station. The cables are long enough that you can hide the unit away almost anywhere without running out.

If you are planning to use it for lots of stations, I'd say that the controls aren't quite as good as the Pure. It doesn't seem to have the scrolling text (unless I'm missing something) which tells you the song info.

I would say that the signal you get is pretty comparible to the Pure.
