Most videos that you'll watch on Country Music Television are glorified pop songs these days; as is most country music on the radio. With Clancy's Tavern, there is no pop music in the background, and no constant stream of boring, chorus-driven love songs. This album is simply country music at its best.
There really is not a bad song on this new release. Irish people will love the title track; it could easily be sung in a more Irish manner, in a Dublin or Cork or Belfast Bar. Made in America sees Mr. Keith return to familiar, patriotic themes (on which he always writes well and sings with passion). The album has humour (Red Solo Cup) and serious sides (I Won't Let You Down). Toby's voice remains as powerful and unique as ever.
Toby's last few albums have been bitterly disappointing; it is good to see him return to fine song writing and to singing meaningful songs. Clancy's Tavern is up there with the latest albums by Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, and Kenny Chesney. Buy this album - you won't be disappointed.
