Product Description

CD Description

Toby Keith's Clancy's Tavern is inspired by his grandmother's supper club which he frequently visited as a youngster and incudes the US number one single "Made In America". This deluxe edition release includes four more classic covers recorded live at that "Incognito Bandito" show. They are: Waylon Jennings' "High Time (You Quit Your Low Down Ways)", Buck Owens' "Truck Drivin' Man", Three Dog Night's "Shambala" and Chuck Berry's "Memphis". Recorded at The Fillmore in New York City, the tracks were produced by Toby Keith, Mills Logan & Kenny Greenberg. Keith's backing band for the show included Greenberg, Chad Cromwell, Kevin "Swine" Grantt, Rob McNelley, Jim Hoke and Mica Roberts. Keith produced the album's 11 new studio tracks, including the hit US single "Made in America" and the UK single "Clancy's Tavern".

Excellent album 26 Oct 2011
By Musicfan TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD
I have enjoyed Toby Keith albums for years. There has not been a bad one although some are of course better than others....in my opinion. For me, his best is Honky Tonk University. I was very impressedwith Bullets in the Gun least yearr, which i thought was a return to top form and a great album. Could he follow that? Could he remain in top form? The answer to both quations is a resounding yes. In fact, this runs Honky Tonk University Close. It is a great album full of great songs by a singer who cannot be mistaken for anyone else. It begins with the patriotic Made in America which has a message many will agree with (although we might put our own country in the title!). I need to hear a Country Song is a great lsiten. Clancys Tavern is heartfelt and has a feel of reality (he is singing about his grandmothers pub). There is the rowdy and fun Beers Again and Red Solo Cup. The relaxing Chillaxin. The classic Truck driving Man is given a new lease of life. The cover of the Chuck Berry classic Memphis is first class. Perhaps he is a little more relaxed than usual but not too relaxed. he is on top of his game. The songs have a great feel. The band and Keith seem to be enjoying the songs and that comes across to the listener. Not a bad song on the album and another great addition to the Keith catalogue. One of his best...in my opinion. Highly recommended.

As always, Toby Keith delivers the goods and then some throughout his new album - hitting you right between the eyes with his superb voice, his straight-to-the-point songs and amazing production skills!! Toby stands ten feet tall and bullet proof, doing things his way - the American way!!

Most videos that you'll watch on Country Music Television are glorified pop songs these days; as is most country music on the radio. With Clancy's Tavern, there is no pop music in the background, and no constant stream of boring, chorus-driven love songs. This album is simply country music at its best.

There really is not a bad song on this new release. Irish people will love the title track; it could easily be sung in a more Irish manner, in a Dublin or Cork or Belfast Bar. Made in America sees Mr. Keith return to familiar, patriotic themes (on which he always writes well and sings with passion). The album has humour (Red Solo Cup) and serious sides (I Won't Let You Down). Toby's voice remains as powerful and unique as ever.

Toby's last few albums have been bitterly disappointing; it is good to see him return to fine song writing and to singing meaningful songs. Clancy's Tavern is up there with the latest albums by Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, and Kenny Chesney. Buy this album - you won't be disappointed.
